LAT Careers

A career with Leigh Academies Trust is a career without limits, with the freedom to be yourself and to be great at what you do.

As the employer of choice for thousands of educational professionals and support staff, we believe that working for the Trust offers unrivalled opportunities to develop a career while changing lives and transforming communities.

Whatever your role, we view individuality and diversity as core components of our values. We don’t believe that staff should all have to act and think in the same way, which is why we are dedicated to creating environments in which people can share their own diverse backgrounds, experiences, perspectives and ideas.

We strive to offer a range of career options to suit you, and continually add to our benefits package available to all staff.  At LAT, we aim to offer more than just a job, and be more than just an employer.

Teachers and Leaders

We are extremely proud to employ some of the best teachers and leaders within the country. It is our teachers and leaders that ultimately make the difference to our students by ‘Shaping Lives and Transforming Communities’. Our highly talented workforce consistently strive to remove barriers and provide opportunities to achieve academic excellence for all. With a ‘can-do’ attitude and boundless ambition, we aim to create successful, independent and respectful young adults with high levels of integrity.

Academy Support and Management Staff

The staff who work in our academies, whether they are student-facing or work within an office setting, are pivotal to the success of our academies.  Without these talented people in roles ranging from Teaching Assistants to Technicians, Exam Invigilators, Office Managers and Data Teams (and many many more), we wouldn’t be able to deliver the educational opportunities for our students.  Our academy support and management staff work together to keep the academies functioning on a daily basis, and work tirelessly to support everything our teachers and leaders need to offer the best education possible.

Head Office Staff

LAT offers a highly efficient and effective centralised service to all of our academies and associated partner organisations.  Our ultimate goal is to deliver the best possible service to our academies across the following remits; People Services (HR) including centralised payroll, IT, Finance, Estates and Executive Support and Governance.  With a range of corporate and educational backgrounds, the combined experience of our Head Office employees allows for development and continual improvement across the shared-services function, making processes more streamlined and the Trust more efficient.

Apprenticeships

LAT has been offering apprenticeship programmes to new and existing staff for years now which grew in demand when the government apprenticeship levy scheme was introduced in 2017-2018.  We offer a wide range of apprenticeship courses from Level 2-7 and for positions including Teaching Assistant, Premises Maintenance Operative, Finance Assistant, and Senior Leader.  LAT works with a small number of specially-selected apprenticeship providers who offer a great quality of training, and our managers are well equipped to support our apprentices with their programmes.

If you are not yet an employee of LAT but are enrolled on an apprenticeship programme at your current workplace, we are able to carry your programme over to LAT if you start a position in any academy/Head Office role so that you can finish your qualification.
